Wild hawfinch chase today, alas. There were apparently still 9 in the churchyard this morning but when I was there late afternoon, none to be seen (and I was patient and spent quite some time scanning the upper branches of the trees). Still not made that tick. :(

We are sitting currently a couple of miles from a South Devon hawfinch hotspot. Possibly tomorrow we'll nip over to try to bag one ;)

J2R, no, not go to Stubb Mill this week, but with a bit of look we're back in Norfolk in a couple of weeks so maybe then.

Popped into Lakenheath on the way home. Bit of a wash out! Other than the usual suspects on the feeders, all we saw in the first 90 minutes were a couple of coot! We did manage to get a sparrowhawk fly-past, whooper swan and a good view of a kingfisher perching in the reeds before we got so wet and cold we called it a day.

Brilliant snow bunting photos :-)
I was very surprised by skylarks singing on Portland yesterday, it’s such a lovely summery sound, added happiness to the day :-)

About nine species for us in the garden watch - including the sparrow hawk! Some of our regulars haven’t turned up either, we’ll check the feeder cam later to see if we missed anything. Not checked it for a few days, I have a feeling we might have lots of overnight cute mouse shots! The birds seem to pose for it as well 😀

Nice close up of a Brambling on this morning's long run in the Peak. Pretty little birds.

Also think I spotted a Peregrine on the drive over but not 100%.
