Steve45 - the tip I was given for recognising coal tit song is they say "it's me, it's me, it's me" so very similar to "teacher teacher" just quicker. I'll stop posting now keep forgetting things! We have a growing in size Jackdaw 'murmeration' at our local wood which is quite cool. A starling murmeration is on my to see list this year.... |

Saw a couple of smallish flocks of lapwing (30 or so) just below the moor today. Good to see them back. Small numbers of golden plover around, too.

Had a look for the Wimpole Hawfinches earlier after our long run. Virtually every other type of finch but no Hawfinch! Nice to see a few greenfinch as don't see them much any more.

Lots of fieldfare at Wimpole for my long run-walk (currently injured-ish so not running with flanker ), and also got tripped up by a goldcrest. The little thing literally got under my feet, it's lucky I didn't squash it

I’m not the only one then - wrens & robins get under my feet round Lodmoor. Robin singing away from about 1am this morning, quiet now but weather’s turned filthy.

I couldn't get the usual bird food I put out so bought something else that I thought was probably the same but different branding....... put out for my garden birds. To be met with much "wings on hips" this morning |

😂 clever but unlike urban birds I guess it you or nothing. Daughters friend says bird table catering is really competitive in her street.
