We see far more than the serious folk anyway. Especially after tea and cake breaks 👍

Black-tailed Godwit at Carsington late this afternoon 😀. Along with a female Stonechat that helped the 2018 count. Not really been off my home patch yet but already up to 67 with all but 3 within 2 miles of the house and still a few regulars to spot.

Seemed busy and noisy today in the woods when the sun was shining. One small patch had Great, Blue, Willow and Long Tailed Tits, Blackbird, Wren, Robin, Nuthatch and Goldcrest all calling within a couple of minutes.

Stonechat like the ‘scruffy edges’ of moorland, heathes and coastal grassland. They are what I call perching birds. Look for fat bumble bees with big heads sat in the top of dried stalks in fields next to the fell wall

I'll keep my eyes open now that's a great description thx. My favourite spot here though I didn't see one last year is a redstart that nested nearby for a couple of seasons.

D2 you've probably got more chance of finding one on your patch when the weather is milder. They seem to retreat to places like the Res when it gets a bit wild higher up. The one I saw today appeared about a week or so ago during the snow. But later in the year I would have thought you'd got every chance :-)
