Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Um/anyone else with their anorak hood firmly pulled up.

Seems I was totally wrong with regard to the new "Miller Moss" 2,000ft summit. It's not Little Lingy Hill at all, rather it's the unnamed spot height of 609m just below the "Iron Crag" title on OS 1:25 maps. This is a bit confusing, as there is nothing else in the vicinity of note. I went to the cairn a couple of years back while doing the LDWA "Back o' Skidda" route and was trying to bag all the Birketts in the vicinity. Bill clearly didn't think this one was worth it. On my GPS trace below you can see I've given it the title of "Iron Crag" must change that! (not to be confused with the Ennerdale Iron Crag :-) )

Anorak - what here?
Yes - I saw the reference to 609m for OS, but didn't relate it. Here's a bit more detail

I agree that Iron Crag is a far better name too. That's what Synge classifies it as, but Bill Birkett does call it Little Lingy Hill - he thinks the OS were wrong in giving the LLH title to the wierd little dome to the SW of the new "mountain" and immediately to the E of Miller Moss. All a bit train-spotterish of course :-)
