Thanks for the pointers to Burns Farm campsite. Did the job nicely; views from the tent of Skiddaw and Blencathra (summits included ;-)), friendly staff, reasonably considerate co-campers and sensibly priced. We'll be back soon.

Glad you liked it - I found it was fab for scenic, easy, evening walks with the dog too

To be avoided during the Keswick beer festival. It's a favourite location for the festival goers and the drunken singing goes on all night .... not good if you're on BG support and need a few hours kip :-)

Brother in law (good fell runner) turned up with burns from a camping gas canister accident, unlikely to run far this week.

Wife’s cousin (keen walker) has infection, on antibiotics, told not too walk this week.

I will either be nipping out for a run ( like Skiddaw) or with kids and pensioners (both of whom are actually faster than me) for a walk. So it’s up in the air.

Flanker - also worth noting that if you use burns semi frequently, the owner will do everything she can to fit you in on busy days (she opened another field for the overspill from my BG!)

That's true, Linda isn't it? Very friendly and accomodating lady. Didn't I drop by to Burns on the day of your BG Stu? I recall it was the week before the UTMB and I was meant to be supporting Bobs on the Tour of Skiddaw. I ended up gossiping with your support team and missing her at Latrigg, something she likes to bring up every now and again :-)

NE you did indeed. I think you'd not long had the van and were revelling in telling everyone about it ;)
