My parents enjoyed "days out" like that when they were barely into their thirties. To be fair, they both worked hard, the roads weren't as busy then, and if the kids were cooped up in the back of the car at least they knew where we were. If Mum was working, Dad was quite good about taking us on short journeys to places where we could run wild.

The bluebells are past their best but the hillside at Rannerdale still looks distinctly blue from the road.

Enjoying this lovely weather up here! Great walk with v’rap and eL Bee yesterday 😁😁😁
Internet crap so can’t google much. Want to do Old Man tomorrow, so it’s old station car park right if we want the shortest easy tourist route? Is it obvious from the car park where to go?!
