I really loved St Bees -but I'm not going back there until I retire and start walking the C2C
Giving youngest the task of finding a route from Wasdale....

My parents enjoyed "days out" like that when they were barely into their thirties. To be fair, they both worked hard, the roads weren't as busy then, and if the kids were cooped up in the back of the car at least they knew where we were. If Mum was working, Dad was quite good about taking us on short journeys to places where we could run wild.

might be doing the odd pensioner-friendly day out next week - does anyone know if the Rannerdale bluebells are still in bloom, or have they all gone?

The bluebells are past their best but the hillside at Rannerdale still looks distinctly blue from the road.

Hello
Enjoying this lovely weather up here! Great walk with vโrap and eL Bee yesterday ๐๐๐
Internet crap so canโt google much. Want to do Old Man tomorrow, so itโs old station car park right if we want the shortest easy tourist route? Is it obvious from the car park where to go?!

really jealous of the weather you're having!
Can't help, it's over 30 years since I last walked up The Old Man! - but awaiting answers as I think youngest might enjoy the walk on Friday...
