Don't think there was a single Lakes club at CWR yesterday. Yorkshire & Lancashire; a lot of Manc clubs present. Fun day out :). Would have been less fun with today's weather! I think there's just too many big events not to get a clash these days - bit like end of April with 3 Peaks, Guisborough ECs, Fellsman & Coniston on the same day. |

Well our annual club womens weekend away is being thrown a right curve ball ...... Coniston Hostel has just cancelled all the rooms for the weekend of the Lakeland Trails ... staffing issues they say ...... some of us can drive up on the morning but the marathoners who need to register the night before can't ...........

That's not handy. I just booked the marathon a few days ago and haven't got near booking anywhere to stay yet

I think Coniston Hotel did the same thing not so long ago, and that was a big event weekend too.

The girls in our room have decided its just too much hassle........ the race organizers have kindly said we can defer until next year due to the circumstances so we're going to do a walk in the peaks and pub meal instead ......... lets hope businesses can find a way of sorting out staffing issues somehow, as i know pretty much every place we visited in the lakes last week , shops / cafes and hotels were all advertising for staff
