Did a recce of the Duddon fell race route. Started at Seathwaite, then Harter Fell, Hard Knott, Little Stand and then down to Three Shires. Up Wet Side Edge to Swirl How, then Dow Crag, White Pike, Caw and then down to Seathwaite. Quite a tough one.

That sounds like a cracking day out!

I'm thinking a lot of casual walkers had a less peaceful day than they expected around the Gramere / Ambleside area when a few hundred Grasmere Gollopers and a load of OMM Lite competitors descended on them!! Bit of gridlock coming down from Rydal caves!!

Quite possibly Tim 🙂 Next week may be a big one for me, so I won't be doing the long course, I might do the short one however ..... I'm told that it's a bit of a navigational challenge, which sounds ominous. The course is the same from Dow Crag though.

Tell you what though, the descent from Caw at the end is what you might term "technical" and the final field is literally a swamp.

very little up yet in Wasdale. I’m fact the bluebells are still quite spectacular which as a southern-dweller really surprised me.

Thanks WW. I had said to the missus that the bluebell session would be over. Obviously wrong again!

Definitely starting to show in the Dunnerdale and Eskdale area. In a few weeks it will be significant.
