Snoot/All - just to put the little mystery on the preceding page to bed, I can confirm that the gentleman on the folding bike was indeed supporting an FGR, it turned out to be the father of one young lady who completed in 16:35. He was swimming across DW with her, but didn't know the area at all.

Well done lady-Frog I'm intrigued now - as to what happened to the Brompton. Did she have a runner with her who then used it to get back to Keswick? |

I too was puzzling about how to carrya Brompton while swimming. A man in a wetsuit on a bike is unusual, but swimming on a bicycle is even more so.

Her support runner from Leg 4 took the bike back round to Calf Close Bay on the Borrowdale Road.

Just in case you're wondering, despite the self-support ethos that's meant to underpin the Frog Graham Round, the majority of contenders have at least one element of support. The biggest one is an accompanying canoe/kayak across the lakes, it makes a massive difference - particularly if you're slow and don't reach DW by dark.

I assume that carrying the wetsuit /food etc is the contenders job, that they don't get "Sherpa'd" around as a BGR runniner might? But having a companion for safety, especially when you're getting tired seems sensible. |

RH - historically yes (I carried mine), but we've given the flexibility to contenders to do it how they like. I get asked this all the time and tried to make it as clear as I could on the website, it's here - feedback welcome! froggrahamround.co.uk |
