God was seen in Ambleside sorting the traffic system for when things get back to normal. He was later spotted on Causey Pike fixing the fire damage before popping into Grasmere to pick up some gingerbread for his lunch. Police finally collared him near Threlkeld putting the finishing touches to the new bridge on the railway path. Why are you out and about when you're supposed to be in lock down they said |

A friend of mine who lives in Kendal was out on his bike this morning when he found a Wild Boar wandering along a lane! Initially he was cautious of it but when it seemed unphased by him and started nosing round his bike he patted it. At which point it lay down to have it's belly rubbed! Rather suggesting it was more domesticated than wild! The film clip made a rather good watch on fb though

Yesterday was Wordsworth's 250th birthday - Grasmere should have been heaving for the re-opening of Dove Cottage and the museum. Instead, it was like a ghost town - facebook.com |

Just spotted the reference to the wild(?) boar. My best guess would that it had escaped from the farm near Endmoor/Gatebeck where they raise them commercially. It's been a while since I ran past there but I've seen them in their wooded enclosures before.
