This is something of a quiet boast about the very short distance I had to stagger from Rothay Park to my accommodation after the 55k race I didn’t train enough for...

No points for running, many points for organisation. ;-)

All part of the game, right? Was that not a PB for you, anyway?

It was, by getting on for half an hour! Could have been better if I’d trained and tied my shoelaces properly, probably. 15 degrees cooler would have been nice, as well!

How’s your recovery going so far?

Today's weather would've been perfect for ultra running, unlike yesterday's sauna :-o

Too true! My time put me about 2/3 of the way down the field; the last couple of years it would have been bottom quarter, so I think it was slowing everyone down. A half hour PB under the circumstances is brilliant!

Everything feels surprisingly good apart from blisters and toenails. Stairs hold no fear for me :) yourself.

Stairs up are fine. Down requires circumspection. It’ll wear off by tomorrow. Blisters, though - not used to those. :-(

The 55k was blooming hard work in the heat but strangely the only signs i ran it are a trench foot type situation .... prob from standing in rivers to cool off at any opportunity, over half my club gang DNF’d due to the heat 🥵
