Hmmmmm wonders of everyone else is dropping out I'm pretty sure i know where we're going to run and have plotted a route, its not the straightest of lines to Meridian to my home area but i really don't want to do loads of tarmac road running so i think it looks like we'll be doing atleast 44 miles before we hit the 30 mile radius line |

I'm still doing it and so far, my boy is still doing it with me (although I don't rule out him bolting at the first hurdle). I'm taking the "I'm fine with tarmac" approach. Here's the latest incarnation of my route: fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1869084 I'm not expecting to get all the way to the end of that, but it'd be foolish not to plan for it at least Have tried to avoid A roads, with the current exception of the A428 on the stretch from 40 to 55 miles. If we do make it there, (a) I'm expecting it to be daylight; and (b) I know the road pretty well as it's close to home; so (c) we can always give up at this point and go home with Katie. |

It is so close now!!! We had a change in our team and (thankfully) Paul lives in Birmingham so my original thought of what the heck do we do when we finish being the driver of where to go has been alleviated. So we are heading towards Stafford and Paul knows someone who has done this route to circa 30m and when I looked at Fetch's very (VERY) helpful mapping of route options we are going pretty much with one of these routes. (thanks Fetch super helpful) Paul thinks we may need to deviate in places but hopefully a good rough plan. I think we will be mainly on tarmac sadly but if we make the 60mark it gives Paul a distance PB so that is the first target. |

Just bear in mind that the routes I automatically plotted were just "quickest way to the 30/60 mile radius". Not necessarily the best route The value of your investment can go up or down. Always read the label.

Totally and friend re mapped on the basis of his friends route to 30m with a look at where we were headed to the 60m point (as crow flies) he said it worked as we’re closer to roads easier for his wife to come and collect us (what a hero she is!)

Our 30 mile radius takes us very near the tiny tiny village of Nobottle. I reckon we can claim at least some bottle if we make it that far.

I think there's no point NOT planning to. Imagine it went really well and then all of a sudden you had six hours left and no clue where to go I've just added a KML export button to each route page. I'd highly recommend downloading the KML and then uploading it to Google Earth: earth.google.com you can do a fly-through of your route. It's been extremely handy for checking the route for pavements, shops and gotchas. |
