Thanks @HappyG(rrr) that makes sense. Not that useful when trying to plan charging stops though! I'll stick to planning to stop at chargers I know I can use, and if there's a Tesla one there I can give it a go.

This is my view: Tesla know I haven't got a Tesla, so they only show me, in the app, chargers that non-Teslas can use. There's nothing showing on the A1 between Doncaster and Cambridge, for instance, so I know that's only showing me "available to all" stations. You can double-check online on the Tesla website where there's a toggle switch to only show "available to all" superchargers. |

I know on my car I can make the settings to include the non Tesla car chargers into the route finding / planning so the car would only take me to the supercharger ones 🤷♀️

If you use "Zap-Map", the "open to all" chargers are listed as "Tesla Public Supercharger", and you can therefore filter out the "Tesla Only Superchargers" from route planning. Sadly, Electroverse doesn't appear to be that clever. |

Home charging woes for me. Had two consecutive nights of the charger not delivering a charge to the car, so switched off scheduling in the car in case that was at fault and left for a third night. Still no charge. Enough to get to work on, but needed a rapid charge to get me home again. The charger is a BP Pulse one; I've had BP Pulse ones for 4.5 years. The first one was very flaky, and after about 2y11 months they replaced with a more modern unit under warranty. Now this one appears to have gone faulty too (it's persistently stuck in a boot up loop I know now) and BP won't provide warranty support nor an engineer at a cost to fix it. Will have to rely on granny cable for a few days at least, which will mean I'll be using higher tariff electricity as I don't think i can get 45 miles of range into the car in the 5 hours that Octopus Go allows me. Fortunately as the car was acquired under Motability, it looks like they might be up for swapping out the BP device and adding an Ohme in its place at no charge. No idea at the moment if that will be a quick service or not; hopefully not too lengthy though. As they've confirmed the BP device is out of warranty I may (carefully) lift the lid on the box and see if there is a "reset" button or something inside I can play with. Well aware of potential dangers of course!! |

5h at 13A should be around 15kWh which should be 45 miles shouldn't it? Even in winter. Ok there are some losses in the charging. But at worst it'll be just a little bit of full price leccy.

I was only getting 1.9w output last night on the granny, not sure if it is a downrated granny charger or I'd created some limiting factor on it? Maybe it's only a 10A device? It's not a million miles away from covering what I need. I'm getting a reported 3.3-3.4 mi'kWh at the moment so need about 13.5kWh, plus charging losses (presume lower at lower rates of charge, so maybe 5%) - total 14.2kWh. 7.5 hours at that sort of rate. If I kick it off at 10:30-11pm when I head to bed it should be done by most mornings. Though there are a couple of days a week where I need a little more. I'm sure I'll cope, it's just a bit messy having cables out there, especially if the weather isn't great. |

If you’re talking about commuting you also have 7 nights for 5 days work, though maybe there’s similar weekend use too. My charging cable (which I bought separately, didn’t come with car) has a setting for the current which can be changed from 13 to 10 and something even lower. |
