I think twice round the whole of Leith Links would be about 5k? Or twice and a bit... but there's a big main road in the middle. So that wouldn't work.
What about Inverleith Park, or Craigmillar Castle park?

A circuit of arthurs seat is just over 5k - that would be a good workout - but not a PB course

I think Inverleith is about a mile around the perimeter so three and a bit laps and a bit narrow in places. Lots of potential for mud and tripping over roots. And no cafe so no . Can't have a parkrun without .

Cramond is fine for those of us coming over the Bridge. Just because it's called Edinburgh Parkrun, doesn't mean it's just for Edinbughers

Tried mapping a route around Leith Links (west side without crossing road). Round outside with zigzags (paths). Only around 2km Not that it couldn't be 2.5 laps but I suspect there would be too many civilians polluting the route as well.
The problem with Edinburgh is that every bit of potential parkland has been turned into a golf course.

There is a park at the gyle, near david lloyd that may be an option...only 1.5 miles from my front door, but not sure how far around it is...mix of path and grass.....
