We love ours. We smile whilst riding them.

We expect to electrify one of the tandems when eL Bee!'s ability to haul us both uphill starts to fade.

I don't ride enough to justify one, but would like one! Though one of my sons has relatively limited fitness / strength / endurance (for reasons other than teenage laziness) so he might be a good candidate for one; or maybe a conversion kit like Swytch?

Hmmm, interesting.

My BiL, who can only be described as A Fat Bastard, has been contemplating buying a second car or maybe a moped / motorbike to solve his journey-to-station problem for commuting to work.

I wonder if an e-bike or e-scooter might be a better idea...

Any top tip brand or source recommendations gladly received!

My parents both have conversions. Particularly for my mum, who'd struggle on any hill, it meant the difference between getting out or not at all.

I don't ride one myself, but I see them as great - it opens up cycling, especially for utility purposes, to so many more people.

Fitz: a colleague bought a folding e-bike for that purpose - linking work and home via the station. I think it was from Halfords, but can't recall the model.

I have multiple bikes, including an eMTB. They are great levellers for groups of differing fitness levels. I originally bought one so I could ride with my much fitter partner, but many of my MTB friends also have them now so I ride it with them too.

The eBike is sometimes the reason I made it out of the door when I really don’t feel like going for a bike ride, or slogging up the hills. Otherwise I’d be sat on my arse staring at my phone…

I quite like the idea of an e-bike or even an electric moped for commuting.

I'm particularly drawn to the simplicity of the battery charging. Some of them seem easier than others and just plug into a charger on a normal socket. I'd be using the office electric for that..!

Thanks MudMeanderer, a folding e-bike sounds just the ticket! Get it on a Cycle to Work scheme and it could be just the thing...

Well I have to say 9 months in and I am still loving the e bike. I have been out on it so much over the winter and done so many more miles than I would have on my road bike. I keep looking for hilly rides and am just having a blast.

Since 1st March (Wednesday) I have done 100 miles and my legs are feeling it today as a lot of those miles have been hills.

E-bikes can certainly still give you a good work out 😁

How many Fetchies are e-bike users?

Have recently converted, due to arthritus making cycling longer distances not so much fun, and have to say it has been a game changer for me. I can't keep off the bike.

Am not using it on full power all the time, have actually been out with the power switched off and just put on for assistance with the hills, but it has really made me get outside cycling again more. Have pretty much abandoned the car lately, even cycled over the cliffs cycle path ...
