Looks like bringing Gronkowski to Tampa has left the Bucs with 5 Tight ends and near the salary cap. Queue mad trade scramble to reduce both

Did anyone stay up for the draft? I would normally, but the Steelers had swapped their first round pick for Minkah* (not complaining) and I didn't expect them to trade up into the first (they didn't).
*On the other hand, when I first read the "STEELERS TRADE 1st ROUNDER FOR FITZ" headline, I thought we'd given the Dolphins a first-rounder for Fitzmagic (BBR had just gone down with injury, after all) - not a happy bunny until I read the article.

I dipped in and out. Happy enough personally:
* Good outcome for the Bolts - think Miami saved them from themselves.
* No first round pick for the Pats after a trade with the aforementioned Bolts.
* Seahawks get Jordyn Brooks who leaves me with an embarrassing blank face since I must have listened to at least a dozen mock draft podcasts.

I’ve still got a lot of friends in the Boston area. The view seems polarised between very positive (trading a guy who’s retired for a fourth round draft pick is unarguably good business) and the very negative (Belichick refused Brady a dignified retirement as a lifetime Pat and basically broke Gronk both mentally and physically).
I can see both sides. And even as a ‘pretend Bostonian’ from having spent so much time there in the nineties I totally get why outsiders hate the Pats so much.

This was the dream where you get a ‘nobody’ (my choice but nobody else’s would be Anthony Gordon from WSU but that’s probably just my inner 12 talking), and groom him to take over while Brady winds down over two years and eventually the other guy takes over as starter.
