I used to watch the Chelmsford Cherokee back then too. Mainly US Air Force guys from the bases up TRO’s way. Decent standard as it goes.

I heard it on ATN podcast first and was intrigued so I downloaded the whole thing. It was an entertaining listen. Our channel 4 reception was terrible. I used to sit twiddling the little metal aerial trying to get the snowstorm to clear enough for me to make out what was going on. I had a T shirt with a cartoon dog and Oakland Raiders written on it. I didn't even realise they were a real team until the Channel 4 shows. I don't know what they were thinking last night, taking the third best WR as the first pick. Blinded by his 40 yard time at the combine, I suspect. Hopefully his speed will encourage Derek Carr to air it out a bit more next season. |

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I adopted the Bears after living in Chicago as a child. But the Ditka years coincided nicely with the early days of C4 and saved me from adopting the Dolphins, Redskins or Niners. I still think of the C4 coverage when I hear 'Two Tribes'. |

Same for me Gobi. Used to watch the Ipswich Cardinald, they won the title with a US airman at quarterback. Still going, in the lowest tier. Not that I walk the one mile up the road to see them play. |

I also followed Ipswich back in the day. Watching an option offense is not that exciting if the standard of play is good (I've seen a lot of Army games at West Point), it was hard going as a spectator when the quality was low!

Because I’ve little better to do I’ve been watching clips of college games to see who has been drafted. Now seriously considering aa BT Sport subscription... I’m also much less convinced that Justin Herbert is going to be a big success. Seems like a nice kid though. |

Oh, and the Seahawks drafted another two tight ends. As someone said on here the other day, you can never have too many...

Mina Kimes, in her podcasts, has always been very clear that Tua was a better bet than Justin Herbert. Her thoughts were that if his first receiver wasn’t open, then things got ugly very quickly. She was not convinced about his decision making and, although she described his wide receivers as awful, she thought he was playing behind a line that gave decent protection. She thought that, given the quicker nature of the NFL, he may really struggle when put under pressure by a decent pass rush. She also has a thing against tall quarter backs. Justin Herbert is about 6’ 7”, I think. Her cut off point is 6’ 5”. After that, she thinks they would have played basketball if they were really good athletes. |

Someone - wasn’t her - said something similar on The Ringer. He’s properly tall. Here’s a wild uneducated statement. He’s too solid to play center and too tall for a power forward? Who’s our hoops expert? SPR possibly. If you watch the eye-catching passes on the highlight tapes on YouTube he’s got so much time on the ball - very few cases on film show him passing under pressure. |
