My former hockey teams followed were Montreal Canadiens until Ottawa got their own team...then it was Senators from there on. I keep up with them once in a blue moon...and in the past they've done well at times.

Our local team, the Streatham Redskins, changed its nickname about five years ago to Streatham Ice Hockey Club and are now generally known as the Streatham Red Hawks.

Oh yes, Stretham were briefly in with us (EPL, 1990s) as were Haringey. Happy days. Haringey was a really odd rink stuck in the middle of Ally Pally, yes?

When I left school, I did think about going for a trial with the Streatham Olympians as a kicker. I could never make any trial dates and I was probably a bit lightweight in those days anyway, so I gave up.

Talking of Astros, the near miss about the Nationals being forced to play on plastic in Fredericksburg was funny while it lasted.

[for completeness of course the Chelmsford ladies were Cobras. The rec team were Nighthawks - which means it must have been the kids that were Tomahawks. I think]
