If you look at history, it's obvious the Native Americans weren't seen as equals when the naming happened. If the Native Americans were seen as equals, would it have even happened in the first place?

In my experience there was plenty of racism against Pakistanis in the Central Belt of Scotland Gobi, but we mainly stuck to the traditional anti Irish sectarianism.
It is a bit different celebrating the victory of the oppressed over the oppressor in your team name GregP, though Patriot is a rather more loaded term now. Chicago teams are not so politically contentious: bears, baby bears, birds, bulls and err, socks. Plus burning down the city if you include MLS.
On the latter theme I support renaming the Cleveland MLB franchise the 'River Fire'.

I went to school with Tariq and Shahed- both were more Scottish than me. Ask them what there parents did and they said had a Paki shop(not a phrase you can use now)
1 Chinese family who had a Chinese restaurant.
They generally stuck to Sectarian violence where I grew up as well except for the 6 or skinheads who made no sense and hated everyone.

Fair, Fifters-Etceterers. The MLS team (Revolution) used to be the New England Tea Men, I'm told. Which has to be the crappest sports team name not involving racial stereotypes or, err, socks.

The 80 players instead of 90 for camp seems rather odd. Doesn't feel like a cut that would make a difference.
