Some years ago, I did the Moonwalk in a tutu and followed it up with the Hogsmill 5, still in fairy costume. It was brilliant - I was the only person in fancy dress at the 5-mile race, and got lots of attention, and I like getting attention
I think it's a brilliant idea. The most important thing is to try your chosen garment out beforehand on runs to eliminate chafage issues, especially if it's one of those all-in-ine leotardy things that fastens, um, *down there*. Shouldn't be a problem if you're going to do what I did and wear normal running bottoms with a skirt on top.

Ah, I couldn't practise running in it - all my routes go past one or both of the kids' schools - they would kill me

Oh dearie no, wouldn't contemplate a leotardy style thing (can you imagine the portaloo situation?) or anything with fastenings down there, and as for fishnets for 26.2 miles... doesn't bear thinking about

My kids would think it properly cool if their friends saw their mam (or their stepdad) out running with a tutu on. It would fit with the reputation we already have

I was thinking the same HB - it's one thing wearing it on race day, but you'd look a proper muppet prancing around the local lanes on your own in a tutu Mind you, I did see someone plodding along in a Mr Man costume once. You couldn't see his face and yet still somehow he looked embarrassed.

Yeah, mine too, V'Rap Though I suspect it would take an awful lot to get dh to run wearing a tutu!

Mine are going through the boring teenage desperately wanting to conform bit. Embarrassing parents are the worst thing ever. It's bad enough apparently that I even go near there in lycra

Try it out at parkrun? I'm not sure it would phase anyone at parkrun, given there are often fancy dressers at Christmas parkruns etc.
