Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My newt jingle today was a bit boring. I bought a new type of rice cake that I found in the supermarket, thinking I probably wouldn't like it but would give it a go. Half the packet seems to have vanished and that was just driving home from the shop :-o

On recommendation from a friend I decided to try a little Icelandic drama this evening. Trapped - on the iplayer. 1 episode watched. It's rather compelling stuff. Icelandic frozen newt :)

Also I had a lengthy conversation on the phone with my dad - not entirely new but a very rare thing indeed :)

Mine is the same as Fleecy's. First magnolia in full bloom spotted today in north east London.
Also checked my state pension eligibility ... that's new!

40% depressing, 60% cheering!

My newt for today is called something like a 'forward cross foot chasse' and it requires more practice.

Bit worried it is going to be followed by something like a 'backward cross foot chasse'. I am crap at going backwards.

First daffodil open in my garden today, but that's not a new thing, it happens every year.

Lots of Newt jingling away for me today.

I suppose the biggie is that I have claimed my state pension, am entitled to the full amount ... and it's on its way.

Also cycled 15 mile round trip to Lee Valley Athletics centre. Never done that before.

Trained there.

This evening, I'm going to visit some old friends in their new house for the first time :)

I've also ordered some Nespresso capsules in a new flavour.

That's nothing in comparison with blogging about the prohibitive cost of Masters athletics competitions and then uncovering a new source of income, though medal

My newt jingle today was walking a new route with Wanda, which I hope is going to be part of the route for one of our trail races this year. I also stopped and bought a large bag of kale (50p) from one of those roadside veg stalls which is another newt jingle for me. Now I probably have to find a third newt jingle - how to turn the kale in an interesting dish ;-)
