That's splendid, jennywren. And something I occasionally bang on about wanting and have never achieved in any place I've lived. I do have a whole sofa as my own space at the moment, which is an improvement :)

Brilliant idea, Jenny. And sheds shouldn't be confined to men. Not everyone who has a family/partner/flat mate etc will be able to do it - but I bet there's lots who could. Who needs a guest room - they can kip in the living room if ness. Also once child has flown do they really need a shrine? Admit I was surpisngly pissed off when mine disappeared!

It’s a very small room (looks bigger in the photo than it is) but it has MY stuff in it and everything in it is there because I like it. Out of shot is my other new thing which is a music stand.

Without wishing to bring the thread down, it does piss me off that although we live in a large 4-bed house, I'm the only person with no space of my own, have to work in the bedroom, and in order to do inside exercise have to squash myself in next to the dining table. Grrr....

I used to get furious about the same thing, Linds. And when I mentioned it I'd get, "So? It's the same for everyone," as if this was (1) true and (2) evidence that I had no right to be bothered about it.

Am entirely in agreement and sympathy with Linds and V-rap.

*stern face* Linds - perhaps this is something important you NEED? *repeats stern face*

I realise I’m very lucky to have a house that can accommodate it.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
