Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Some wisterias flower before leafing up, others flower when in leaf Rae... I absolutely LOVE Wisterias and have one on the house, one on the railings and built a pergola to house another couple... 2 white, 2 different colours purple.

Just called the bodyshop to see if I can have my car back... getting a bit fedup with the limitations of the courtesy car. I need to go and pick up timber, willow and tow sack of chicken feed tomorrow...

Actually, should have done all of that earlier this week, but moved to tomorrow, as I was promised i'd have the car back today... the shitty little thing is up to nothing! It barely gets up the hills here with my tools in the back, let alone 50 kgs of chicken food and it is small enough for me to touch the back windscreen when in the driving seat...

I am also a big wisteria fan - we were lucky enough to inherit a well established one when we bought this place and have to be constantly vigilant to stop it taking over the whole garden and subsuming the garage.

When we build the pergola over the brunch terrace we plan to add some sort of climber, either a wisteria or a jasmine I think.

Jasmin is a PITA in my view. I would plant a rose: Mdame Alfred Carriere. Great, semi-evergreen climber.

Went down a street I'd never been down, and it joined up to a street I knew. Well, I have lived here 19 years...

Avoid jasmine!!! My neighbour planted one about 15 years ago and I’m still trying to hack back the fucking thing from invading my garden
I have that rose, Hann :) It’s a bit big for the wall I have, it needs 2 storeys rather than the one I gave it

Two newts - I've been Astra Zeneca'd and I've got colourful bottoms, to add the glorious display today.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
