My newt was a clear protein powder... I struggle so much with new foods and weird textures but I’m on the bring of exhausted all day and somethings had to give. I purchased and tried a clear peach flavoured one and it’s just about manageable!

I have more newts for today - I'm being greedy :)

I tried a new recipe for pumpkin muffins - sweetened with apricots instead of sugar.
But my favourite newt of the day is:
I ran 5k in sub 12mm for the first time in CovidTimes. The first mile was 11:30 - my current dream pace :)

I've got a few things to choose for today's newt now..... including I am going to cook something new for supper (not sure what yet) using Ras el Hanout.

My newt was actually going to be that I saw the first daffodils in flower in the village today when walking Wanda.

And another newt was that Wanda got attacked (very viciously) by a cat. She knew he was under a hedge, stuck her head underneath to take a look and the next thing a hissing, spitting bundle of claws and fur was flying at her and he wasn't expecting to come off second. She was most taken aback by the whole thing and extremely well behaved for the rest of the walk. The cat in question lives in a house with a Staffy so he has no fear at all.

LOL one of my last teaching cohort included a young person with a particular interest in the Hairy Maclairy stories. They would put the You Tube videos of the stories on continuously given the chance! 😂🤣

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
My nest today was vegan shepherds pie, it was well received by Jigs, I would certainly make it again, four portions to go in the freezer too.

Also, I planted some new bulbs in the autumn and for the first time I have snowdrops and crocus flowering :-)

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
