Erm can we have another picture with a coin or something for scale. It looks kind of big to me but I suspect it's not.

I have filled approx. 20 such holes in my spare room with varying degrees of success.

Do I see a rawl plug in there, is it plaster board, is that a layer of wallpaper, big job, not just a dab of polyfilla, you need an expert.
