I have taken OH to two games, one was when SA scored 700-odd in 2 days, Smith got 250+, dreadful. Never again she said.
Fast Forward almost 2 decades to a 50 over game at Cheltenham ladies college, beautiful sunny day, Gloucs v Leics, both teams score 290+, Gloucs win with a 6 off of the second last ball, directly over our heads.
OH "IS that it then?".
Never again.

I took my OH to an England v Australia Rugby League game at Wembley when we first got married. At the end of the game, she asked "was that white thing they were throwing about the ball?" Never again indeed.
Hoping to see an IPL game in person in a couple of weeks.

Any thoughts on the city based T20 format.
I imagine it will cheese off a lot of county peeps, but may well work, I just wonder how the counties who supply players but get no games will be paid, mind you not read up on it much yet. I suppose I may well be lucky living in Manchester, but I also can't see myself supporting some random bunch of cricketers.
I find the IPL ok to watch in vary small bouts, mainly because I have no feelings about who wins, so I don't care, I admire the skills and razzamatazz (Lenny Henry should bring him back), but don't care. Where as I Like to see Somerset, and the bigger teams get smashed, by anyone.
I am old though.

I think I could - just - get excited about supporting a London team out of Stratford. I used to support London Knights as well as Chelmsford Chieftains in my hockey years.

Does anyone know what the 8 cities are going to be? There are more Test grounds than that. Can't Imagine Nottingham, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester missing out. Would that there London get 2?

Newcastle. Chester-le-Street is going to be branded as 'Newcastle'. And it sounds like London will be playing at The Oval and Lords, not Stratford. So they can fuck right off.
