But for me, the most entertaining bit of cricket viewing for many a year was that half over from Paul Collingwood.

Morning Wrigglers, morning everyone.
We were killing ourselves laughing at Mr Collingwood's efforts last night. An economy rate of over 36 is never good
We're not going to T20 Finals Day this year; last year it just tipped the balance from being about cricket with a 'good time' element to being about a 'good time' with a spot of cricket in the background. We don't like too much of the 'forced good time' stuff, so we're having an 'at home' party where we can tune out the extraneous rubbish.

That bad, it seemed to me they did a good job of confining that sort of stuff to the Hollies stand for the test match (where I was). Perhaps they push the boat out for T20 even further....
It's hard work being a bowler in T20. I went for 28 once.
I was floating down my dibbly-dobblers on a flat pitch. First ball I gave it some beans and hit the batsman in the box. I think it annoyed him.

It's not fun. It can happen to anyone, even me :-).

We've got women's T20 finals day at the ECG this year I believe. I'm away, alas - but it should work well as it's a smallish ground and may well get filled.

I never played T20 as such, but was brought up playing Evening League cricket in Nottingham in the early 80's. 15 x 8 ball overs. T20 before it had even been invented.
We played in a cup semi final in 1982 (it was actually the day that Germany played France in the World Cup semi final, Schumacher and all that) against a team from the top division, we were in division 3. I was only 16 and managed to bowl a maiden first up. My second over went for thousands and we lost, but still, an 8 ball maiden!

We did win a cup that year though, the Car Colston 6 a side tournament (held on the day as the Germany v Italy final). My brother pulled a short ball for 6 over the pavillion and hit a cow. Happy days

Yes, I've played that 15 over 8 ball game, in an evening Swindon league. If you bow a wide or two that can go horribly wrong.
One of two of the pitches were arificial that stood proud an inch or so from the ground. One particularly precious moment was a loud mouthed South Africa giving every one gip when he was batting. Came on as first change, charged in, caught the edge of the pitch and fell flat on his face at crease.
There was a good 5 minute break before everyone stopped laughing. Mostly his own team.
They still won.

Top anecdote nico ~applauds~
Eight-ball overs are one of those things that 'young people' here - which include my 42 year old chief super - seem to believe I made up.
See also test matches always starting on a Thursday with a Sunday 'rest' day so players could tip out for their counties in the John Player League.
