Tuffers just said "anything the Pakistan seamers can do, ours can do better".
Confidence restored.
Ed Smith, and the scorer, just pointed out, that in finished games, the team battingfirst won 3 times, the team batting second 16.
Confidence dashed.
2-2
177-5, they may as well have a dart.

As usual the Fetch cricket "experts" have gone from 'brilliant' mode to 'rubbish' mode.
You don't know a good score until both sides have batted. 300 might be good enough. Certainly was in the first test.
I presume that there will be a retraction of statements rubbishing Gary Ballance given his pretty good 70 today?
Then again, probably not.

It is ok to slag someone off and then when they get a good score, continue to do so. I'd rather someone did that, then having slagged him off for his twenty failures then turn tail and say, I always thought he'd come good.

Fozz, lighten up!
This is a small offshoot from a running forum, not a full on serious cricket forum and I don't think any of us claim to be experts in the field. If I was an ''expert'' I'd be on a cricket forum, not here.
There's also a gentle humorous, nostalgic take on 90's England cricket 'when it's bad, it very bad, when it's good it's very good - but the very bad will probably happen' laced through many of the posts which you seem to miss.

Balance s moving his feet better than he was. I'm still not convinced that it's enough, but he's earned himself the right to keep going... and if he keeps improving, he'll be fine.
Hales really needs a performance; maybe we could do worse than throw a youngster in and give them a crack..? It worked for Cook.
Vince still looks lost. Take his drive off him and he seems shotless; let him drive and he's a walking wicket at Test level with a swinging ball.
Be interesting to see how Finn goes today; bowling conditions at a ground he seems to like.
Pakistan 181ao. (Mrs CH went for 218ao...)

Was looking at a BBC article on the West Indies and India drawing the latest test and saw the name Rahul getting a big century in India's innings. Checked him out on Cricinfo.
11 innings 3 centuries but an average of just 37.63. His 11 scores have been as follows:
158, 110, 108, 16, 7, 5, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1.
When he gets in he really gets in.

1 score in double figures; unusual!
