It would be nice to see Tremmers get a game. The Today programme had a piece on the Ashes today, a news piece, not in the sports section. They interviewed a lot of Aussies, asking them how they felt about their poor sporty performance. The general view was this is just a blip and we should enjoy our day in the sun because it won't last. The interviewer asked if something that's been happening for 8 years is really a 'blip'? They used Duckworth-Lewis music as the backdrop, all very beautiful.
In 2003 I spent an evening with some Aussies, round about the time of the last test in Sydney. They were furious we had won a test and they hadn't managed to crush us 5-0. Whenever someone mentions how we're becoming ruthless with regard to the Aussies, I always remember that night.

Good morning, Wobbling, good morning, everyone!
I'm really excited about this game, though I can't really see past an England win. The Aussies are once again talking a good game, but they were lucky in the first Test. The second one was more of a fair reflection of the gulf in class. Despite their protestations, they're in utter disarray, have no idea as to their best side, haven't passed 300 in 4 innings and their most successful two batsmen (Pattinson and Agar) aren't likely to be playing.
For us, I hope Taylor plays. Not sure that KP is 100% fit (and not sure he's in any sort of form, to be honest.)
Did I mention that I'm excited?
