To be honest Fetch we could play anyone, fancy coming in at #5 or #6 :)

I can't believe commentators and journalists are lamenting the lack of contest and gulf in class between the two teams. After years of being smashed to pieces by the Aussies, it's great to see it the other way around :)

I'd think Taylor is next cab off the rank; be nice to see Chopra get a game, but he's more of an opener.

Splendid. Still think we aren't at our best, let's hope we hit top gear in the next 3 tests.

I remember when the Aussies were so dominant there was a question about continuing to play 5 tests for the Ashes.

As much as I would like closer games it is nice to give them a kicking for a bit.

The Australians we beat in 85 and 86-7 turned into the ones who were 300-0 after a days play in 89. The matches so far have swung on small things, and but for a bit of momentum, we could be in a much different place. Never take your eye off the Aussies :-)

this gag may have been done, but has LBW been officially renamed 'Leg Before Watson' in wisden yet?

aussie batting is a mess just like the old england side of the mid/late 90's - once the captain is gone they just fold completely. i had 3-1 at the start of the series, seriously struggling to work out where the 1 is coming from....

Looks like Panesar was the highlight in the Sussex attack against Aus today. Most of the other bowlers went for 4 an over, but he controlled it well and picked up 3. Not suggesting a recall, more perhaps that the Aussies score today is flattering.
