Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Mystery ball - Warne played the trick of talking up a wonder ball there never was every ashes series after his "wonder ball" - the memory of one ball and being able to turn a ball the width of Gatting was enough to get English batsman scratching there heads - Lyon is good but not the same prospect

Be nice if the 'new' England could come up with a different, aggressive approach to spin. Old England would always treat every spinner as Warne/Murali, blocking and pushing the odd one or two - allowing even mediocre practioners like Lyon the luxury of settling into rhythm and keeping an attacking field.

Lyon, with this play, is trying to tap into that 'old' mindset, hoping we'll go into block mode worrying about this mystery ball.

Off for some cricket watching on Sunday, T20 Worcester v Durham at New Road. Whoever decided the train times was no cricket fan. Only train from Bristol to get me to Worcester leaves Parkway at 12:22, arives Shrub hill at 14:13, game starts at 14:30

Monty Panesar apparently unselectable for Essex; poor Monty, wonder where it all went wrong for him?

Ryan Harris has retired from cricket with a knee injury. Shame for him, good bowler and seems a nice chap. Very handy for England though.

Brendon McCullum; he was due a good one! You Bears!

2 days to go....

Excited? Confident?

I predict 3-0 Australia, think we'll be feistier than I feared a couple of months back, just can;t see the firepower in the bowling to get over the line in a test without 'English conditions', which are not likely given the summer we are having.

Just leave a few cricket balls scattered around where the convicts are warming up. Should do the trick.

It's a day early......all tests hould start on a Thursday

Weather permitting and scoring rates what they are, I see 4 or 5 results, 4-0 or 5-0 to England...
