That seems a very good, balanced piece. Loo rolls and all.

Agree with that - well balanced. There’s been an email sent out by Richard Thompson today about it as well that has not long popped into my inbox. Awaiting loo roll report with baited breath 😉 |

A great deal of money will have to be squeezed out of the system to make these big investments worthwhile, and to pay the limited labour pool. Other than the obvious limited exposure on free to air TV and game times to suit the TV audiences, it'll be interesting where it all leads.

I noted the bit that suggested there was some pressure to switch away from metric to the T20 format to fit in with other leagues.

The problem is that it's a one off payment for the control of the middle of the summer for the foreseeable future. It might not look so good in 20 years time when the Test teams are shite, tbe 50 over teams are shite, but maybe the T20 team will be OK if there are rules about playing young home grown players. Oh, my mistake, not very different at all. |

They are already talking about expanding it. And although they say the window is "fixed" - it is until it isn't. The loser will be the longer format game of course. |

I can take or leave the 100 vs 120 balls but I think the idea of changing ends ever other over (/set) has merits. Cuts down a lot of dead time
