Last week he only faced three balls across both innings but hit a boundary with the other. Today it's a second ball duck. Surrey fielding a weakened side against Essex with only Roach and Lawes having much First XI experience among the bowlers. Batters look OK but Josh Blake has the gloves instead of Smith and Foakes.
