I went to primary school with a lad from Guyana called Terence Sancho, we all played cricket (under 11 champions, Cup runners up, Brent under 11s, 1974) also some Jamaicans and Barbadians. I was gobsmacked when I first found out Guyana wasn't an island.

Long time since England played there - recent WI tours have given it a miss.

Are the TMS team not on the ground?

I know it was a little skeletal compared to previous WCs, but I thought Dan Norcross, Steven Finn, Alex Hartley and Henry Moeran were all out there.

I know they're sharing commentary with ABC (Aus) and the ICC radio feeds too, which is why it's been done in a different way to the normal TMS coverage.

The pitch for the SA v Afghanistan games looks absolutely dreadful on the highlights.

Thinking of offering my back garden for the semi-finals of the next T20 world cup, can't be worse than the one they just played on.

A few quotes from the Times

"There is rain forecast in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, from 8am local time to 5pm, with the match scheduled to start at 10.30am. A minimum of ten overs a side is required for a result. It is rainy season in Guyana, which boasts one of the wettest capital cities in the world. On average 2,260mm of rain falls in Georgetown every year, in which June (327mm) is the wettest month."
"India knew from the outset that their semi-final, if reached, would be the second one played in Georgetown — as written in the tournament regulations. Quite why India were the only team to be forewarned about their potential whereabouts is not stated, but does not take much working out given the influence of the Indian television market."

I guess we'll find out later, but my understanding is that only the England squad itself has been able to travel to Georgetown.

They could end up settling it by bowling at 1 stump.

India go through if insufficient overs are bowled.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Listening to TMS from Guyana in the 70's and 80s, I always imagined a warm, humid version of the west of Scotland, as they seemed to be talking about little else other than rain or the prospect of rain.
