Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I must say, I've been rather enjoying Jim Maxwell's enthusiasm for the shipping forecast

That's been great.

If this partnership goes as long as the first innings then We're Doomed.

Fingers crossed I'm being too pessimistic

A Wood spell before the end to blast one of them (or better yet both) out would be useful.

Australia will be happy to survive to try and rebuild tomorrow. Quick morning wickets would be useful.

I didn't realise until this evening that 6/8 of the T20 Blast quarter-finalists made it out of the group stage last year as well.

Surrey return to winning ways v Lancs despite giving away 25 extras. Good to see Jason Roy return with 50. Laurie Evans made 70.

Somerset nearly threw it away v Notts at 62-5. Unbeaten 6th wicket stand of 96 between Lewis Gregory and Ben Green got them home with three balls to spare.

Hampshire look set to complete an all-south Finals Day having bowled out Worcs for 100 with Nathan Ellis taking 4-6.

Sorry, lost interest in the hit and giggle when Yorks went. And found out the competition can't even be arsed to ensure everyone plays each other.

There's real cricket on that England are fucking up properly.

It's like the late 90s/early 00s again.

Playing 14 group games instead of 16 did seem odd. 16 would probably be too many so I would prefer 12 in the current two group format. Saying that, there is something about three groups of six playing 10 games which seemed more natural.

The competition has no integrity if teams do not play home *and* away against all teams.

I was at Somerset vs Notts last night. Full ground, Friday evening, great atmosphere until Nico's boys got on top. Then it got very tense and a bit despondent for a long while. Gregory, in particular, and Green played the situation very well to win it. I'd say the difference between the sides was the belief that lots of wins brings and ultimately a home crowd.

First week (this year) of all-stars & dynamos for the kids last night. For all the many problems cricket has to face up to, these schemes are brilliant at getting kids into cricket. My favourite activity the kids do each year
