Point 3 was batting, in that 4 or 5 - 0 or 3-1 is the norm over the best part of 40 years. In fact 2010/11 was a complete outlier. The top 6 all having batting averages above 40, some way above.

Yes. Nothing has essentially changed. There is of course a few points about the current county structure, which dies need to change. But Cook, Strauss, Trott, Pietrrsen, Prior were generational players (or better) as far as touring Australia goes, Swann possibly even more so.

Sounds to me like they’re gearing up for a ‘few tweaks to the County game but nothing really too much wrong’ conclusion. Same as every other Ashes inquest that’s changed nothing. Same as every England football post tournament inquest, until they finally realised the whole structure, philosophy and archaic ‘this is how we’ve always done it’ mentality were not fit for purpose. Maybe it needs a couple of 0-4/5 home shreddings to get the message across. |

Back to the racism saga: this is a blood curdling read. theguardian.com It’s not a YCCC is the bad apple in the barrel thing; they may be the worst, and the first truly ‘caught’ but in truth far from alone by the looks. As Edwin Collins sang ‘Rip it up and start again’. Build new clubs from the ground up, we’ll get nowhere while these dinosaurs still roam the boardrooms. |

This is the guy who said black people prefer football and Asians prefer to study? Dinosaur or typical of the stale male and pale brigade who are found in boardrooms up and down the land? |

Start the car!!! We can't get 200 in a Test match... Be interesting to see how much of a chase we have in us... ION, really pleased to see the WAshes being given the full TMS treatment. |

Interesting watching the Wales rugby documentary - Slammed - on iplayer tonight. Reference to the entire domestic setup being inadequate, antiquated, unprofessional - reminiscent of English cricket perhaps?

Good to uncon and Ali maintaining their usual level of competence. Bantom looks really promising, and Salt too. Livingstone looked like he should have been in bed, not in the middle! |
