Thanks. I’m glad to hear that as I had liked what I read about JG and he seemed to be a pretty good coach, and strong on culture. Rafiq’s statement seems to support that.

Yep, exactly. We could do a lot worse than to try to tempt Dizzy back (although I've thought that for cricketing reasons ever since he left).

Not injured.
Likely to be "rested" for the 2nd test - only 4 days between 1st and 2nd test and the latter is a day night pink ball test.
He is likely only to play 3 tests and if the 5th test also shifts to a d/n game, you'd want him available for that.
That therefore only leaves one test out of the other 3 and the gabba is unlikely to be helpful for Anderson.

possibly a bit in between. ABC is reporting Anderson has a "calf complaint". I think he would have played this week if fully fit.
Forecast for the test has been improving as the week has gone on. Thursday was looking like a potential wash out earlier in the week but I don't think the weather will save England this week.

Resting someone before they’ve played is nuts. Did a couple of net sessions really tire him out? Besides, he’s their best chance of avoiding a 2nd slip wide first ball.
