The club evolved from an older club made up of servicemen, mostly RAF. My elder brother played and I initially went to watch, then score, then make up the numbers. We won the Nottingham and District Sunday League in 1978. I was 12. There was a lot less League cricket in this area back then. Most of our team played for other clubs on a Saturday. We also played in the Evening League, which at 15 x 8 ball overs, was T20, 30 years before T20. There were about 12 divisions and we were in 2 or 3, so a pretty good standard.
