There's an argument to be had that it's ODI cricket that is what's clogging up the international calendar. In fact, I've made it on here myself not that long ago.
The fact that T20 is over in an 3 hours means you can play more games close together.
ODIs seem to be spread out over inordinate amounts of time to maximise TV and spectator audiences (understandably), which sometimes means there are just blank weeks on tours.
Some of the ODI world cups go on for weeks and weeks. Wasn't the one in the West Indies about 6weeks? That's longer than the football world cup.
We could scrap ODI cricket totally and suddenly free up time for more test cricket, allow more test players to play domestic cricket and for tour games in between tests etc. This would have the effect of strengthening domestic cricket and test cricket both in terms of quality and as a product.

Was it the Gillette that was 60 overs? We used to win that a lot.
Can someone check the rota and see who’s turn it is to mention rugby sevens? Ta.

Think the Natwest was 60. Was it the same thing, at different times?

Gillette was definitely 60 overs. Can't remember when Nat West took over as sponsors or what it had morphed into in terms of overs

Scrap odi for more test cricket. You guys are crazy. Test cricket outside of the big 3 is struggling to get people in the doors. They can at least fill it for T20 or 50/50. T50. ODI.

If they played 60 over ODI's now they would have to be over 2 days or floodlit.

How about one of the bowlers not having to bat, and allowing a designated hitter to bat in his place? Would that help?
Or a bowler can’t bowl more than one spell, no matter how short. Once you take him off, he stays off.
Or... rather than needing a team to be all out, maybe just three people out. Then you could have more innings. Nine is a nice number.

There’s definitely an argument for a super sub. What ever you’re doing second. Or one in each innings. That could add some spice.
It’s difficult to get the balance right between entertainment and gimmick. 8 runs for hitting it out of the ground. One hand one bounce. I think I’ve gone too far.
