Broad was useful last night, we need two new balls. That explains why Buttler AND Stokes went in. s it 98 overs today? England could be done by 10th/12th, they mad a slight error by trying to whack the ball, no need, just push it about, Root is handy at that.

Yup, I think the strategy was sound, given the context (and that we're one down already). Pity about the execution but that doesn't necessarily invalidate the idea...

If we fall short of the win I hope they don’t blame Dibble or start trying to force him to score quicker.
He did the job he was put in the team to do; and I think was trying to force the pace when finally out. Only a select few batsman can routinely switch gears in an innings, and he’s more than worth his place in the side if he can’t do that (yet).

Bess is very young for a test bowler and very inexperienced. Give him time (but I agree that those you've mentioned would have bowled better)
