But Ed Smith has openly said that he'd be crowbarred in, no matter what.

So Buttler isn't going to be dropped.

One syllable first name + one syllable surname = yippetty oi who doesn’t know the difference between a Liebfraumilch and a can of Tizer.

Jeffrey out - broke Biosecure rules.

Too late to get Balsa or Riddle back.

2-0 Windies.

Going back to mention of Ed Smith, has there been another period with so much change in the TMS commentary box?

In the last 11 years, they've lost Blofeld, Boycott, Smith, Selvey, CMJ and Frindall (RIP x2) off the top of my head - and that's before you get on to opposition commentators like Tony Cozier (RIP again, alas). I know there always change over time but I can't recall that much churn since I started listening...

PS I'm ambivalent about Smith's commentary - he's slightly too pleased with himself - but he's an excellent writer: I do miss his New Statesman columns.
