Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The first country game I went to Darren Gough bowled an over and then it got rained off so we went in the members' bar and watched Grease on the TV for the rest of the afternoon.

In my first match, Gary Sobers smashed a sublime 130 on day one.

Unfortunately, we didn't go until the second day.

Wasn't the first Leics game I saw, but memorable for

a. school cricket team allowed to miss school to attend - I was scorer so included
b. Gordon Greenidge, and then a successful Leics. run chase :)

I remember a school trip to Trent Bridge to watch a Notts v Gloucestershire match.

Coach load of oiks who knew nothing about the beautiful game, but did enjoy throwing crisps at Zaheer Abbass.

That was a class Leics. team - great top 4, the brains of Illy, then Graham McKenzie and Ken Higgs, and of course Graham Cross who also played soccer for Leicester City...

Balders, yes.

I have no idea which was my first county game, as I have no idea which was my first test, about all I would say is they would be mid 80s, and both Lords, as that was my nearest ground and easy to go to.

And would that have been the era of Roger Tolchard? I seem to recall him once keeping wicket wearing a thick black belt.
