Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ah, Devon. Radar on, amazing. Radar off, however...

Batted like Phil Tufnell.

I opened the batting in a midweek fixture once. A friendly.

Opening bowler was nippy and I played and missed successfully at the first two deliveries that were pretty well bowled.

Third ball was short, leg side and (unbeknown to me) short. My eyes lit up and I executed a perfect pull/hook shot for a boundary, but long before the ball arrived. The ball then found that bat as it reached the end of its arc and I was caught at 2nd slip.

Yep - so cricket still banned:

"The ball is a natural vector of the disease... and we've been round it many times with our scientific friends. At the moment we're still working on ways of making cricket more Covid-secure."

They had cut a strip and covered both ends at Eastwood CC last night. 2 chaps standing around on the outfield looking wistful.

We're starting outdoor nets on Saturday - 1 hour sessions, with the last ten minutes spent wiping down the net for the next group. No more than six players (including any coach), each bring their own kit including ball which may not be touched by anyone else etc. etc. All pre-booked. We'll see how many we get and how it goes...

So a cricket ball is more prone to lurgy than a fluffy yellow bastard? I find that hard to believe.

What about that cricket ball that smashed Fat Gat in the nose. If it had bone in it, I'm pretty sure it would have lurgy too?
