Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I agree on all counts Dooogs - underwhelmed by the NZ series but great to see the White Rose doing so well, although worried by the effect of Root and Bairstow being with England will have on the batting.

I much prefer test cricket to the shorter versions :-)

I've got a dilemma now; do I spent all day watching my favourite sport on Sky or actually try to get some studying done?

Ashes is being streamed live (and free) on youtube to Europe outside the UK. Think I might be getting my elder son to do some magic IP address fakery to convince youtube we're viewing from France.

Dooogs - I don't think rain is the issue in Durham, more the cold!

I watched a test against India at OT years ago. No rain of note, tho it was bloody cold!

Wobbles - sorry, I got your posts and Nelly's mixed up. :) Never been to Chester-le-Street yet, but I've been rained on and frozen in Newcastle far too many times...

The only Test cricket I've ever genuinely been warm while watching live was at the SCG, I think - everywhere else has ranged from "bracing" (Lords) to "sub-arctic" (Trent Bridge)...

Toss won and England bat. Expect a clatter of wickets and it being all down to Prior for an afternoon session rescue job.

Been to a few T20's games (sorry!) in Brighton and also had the pleasure of 90 minutes play and then the day in the pub at the Oval a couple of years back.

TMS only for me.

Nelly – my big fear is that Ballance gets injured or called up in some capacity. Even with Adil in good form, our middle order depends on GB in a way that I never would have expected a couple of years ago…

I've had quite a few "warm" days at Tests/ODIs at Old Trafford, but not by SCG standards, plus the odd "wet" one :-)
