Talksport replaying KPs rant on the network yesterday against England dropping him for being a ****

Supposedly about Archer's injury.

Except it's not - it's about *his* grievances with the England management

Same here. He really never worked out that all his acrimonious departures from clubs and countries only had one thing in common.

I always had time for KP. Genuinely tried his best with bat in hand, time after time after time. Top athletes are often see-you-next-tuesdays in part at least and captain/manager need to have the skills to deal with it.

Surely the prime responsibility for self conduct lies with the player.

Definitely but you can still nip problems in the bud or exacerbate them. Anyway I only know what I read and see, I don't really know what went on but it seemed like he took a lot of stick for relatively little

I don't envy the captain's role in top class sport nowadays, managing players of huge talent and forceful personality. The two seem often to go together.

And you're right: it's not only in cricket but sports such as football too that professionals are exposed to vile abuse. Effects mics make cricketers more open to being 'pulled'.
