Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Aus have the wood on us so avoiding them is good. I can’t see beyond an India-Aus final however.

Am I correct that the 1vs4 semi is on Tues, and 2vs3 on Thursday. Huge advantage to the winners of game 1, with 2 extra days to prepare.

Big motivation then for Aus to finish off well and grab that no1 seed with a win.

Actually considering a trip to Taunton at the end of the season...

Somerset are used to being the hunters in the County Championship. They have regularly been in and around title contention in the top flight in the past decade - and have finished second four times - but have typically played catch-up after slow starts.

Now, they have become the hunted. A statement win against third-placed Hampshire, sealed with eight wickets before lunch on this final day, coupled with Essex's rout at Trent Bridge, has opened up breathing space between the top two and the rest of the division. With six games to go, the Championship is set to turn into a heavyweight bout, with two sides both hoping to land decisive blows before a final-round shootout here at Taunton.

Lack of posts shows we went past real belief a long time ago but it's finally over.

Excellent win.

Pakistan's chances are zero to nought but it's hilarious that if they bowl first their chances are totally extinguished.

I think Guptil needs to go from the NZ line up, he just has not been able to score at this world cup (and a few matches before) but for some reason he keeps getting picked.

There’s a few hanging around like that. Dhoni for India, couple of the Saffas like Amla. NZ miss McCullum.

Still say Aus’s tourno. They get to roll a poor NZ side then a couple of extra days off while we slog it out with Indians.

Greppers, if you find yourself in Taunton, do let me know... I can show you where to get a decent lunch at least!! Somerset have Notts next. They appear to be in free fall... Your home matches will be crucial.

On another note, the BHF posted a tweet this morning that said, (in effect, today will be) get the last wicket, knock off the runs, sing the song...

& people wonder why they get called arrogant. Shame they lost, obviously.

Dhoni is almost a co-captain when fielding so has a higher value than just run rate (average is pretty good, it's the style being criticised).

Well done England.

The aspect that caught my eye was the effort that Root was putting into fielding. And obviously Bairstow's batting. Anybody would think he has been motivated by criticism?
