Good to see Simon Kerrigan hasn't been too badly knocked by his test match experience. A great performance this week in Lancs game against Hants - 62no batting at no. 11 and then several wickets, including the key one of James Vince, who scored a century for Hampshire. He's bowling now with Hampshire on 49-3 needing nearly 500 to win.

Not a good day for Yorks.
Need to win two, if not all three, of the remaining games - two of which look to be toughies against Sussex and Middlesex
Surrey should be ok if the weather is ok, since the big spenders are bottom and pretty much down (not laughing *very* hard, honestly - ok that's a lie - I am)

Hales had a good knock today though.
Still not sure about 20/20 as a format. I just think there's often too much weighting on the toss - often whoever bats first has a big advantage if they make a big score, and if they don't then it's all over anyway.
Give me a test match any day of the week.

Fingers crossed for Yorkshire. Sussex are too far behind in points now I think to get any higher, but its certainly tight between Yorkshire and Durham!
The thing I think needs to change massively in T20 in the use of Duckworth Lewes! T20 has made cricket more accessible to many, which is never a bad thing I don't think...

If you accept T20 for what it is, then I don't think it does any harm. Test Matches are clearly the definitive test of skill within the game, but T20 has invigorated the other formats through the innovation it has inspired. New shots, different bowling deliveries, better fielding and it has made spinners more, not less relevant as was feared. It has also redefined what it is actually possible to score in a cricket match.
So just switch the brain off for a few hours, sit back and enjoy the show.

Aaron Finch has had an interesting week. First he swotted a World Record 20/20 International innings (156) and today joined in an Australian ODI 246 run operning record stand with Marsh v Scotland (148). A prospect for the future or just two flashing innings v sub-standard bowling attacks? You decide

Are we about to lose to Ireland (again)?
They've smashed up all over the park to set a target of 270. We've crawled to 12-1 in reply....:-(
