Next year I hope icemaiden as long as this thing doesn't throw us too many more curveballs.

@fleecy, interested in your experience there. How were you confident that they were swabbing *correctly*? I've got a couple of thousand young people to put through testing at some point in the next few weeks and having done it myself I'd be really surprised if kids really did get uncontaminated samples from their tonsil area rather than just the general back of the mouth / tongue etc? I read a study of the LFT setup at Birmingham which tested 7,000 students and found just 2 positives. Retesting the samples found 6 more which returned negatives and estimated actual infection levels in students there was predicted at close to 1%, so something like 68 were missed and only 2 discovered, so I'm hugely sceptical about how effective school based testing will really be, mainly because the student participants will be pretty useless at getting good samples out.

Bill Gates was on the radio saying it would be 3-5 years before we are fully back to normal.

I presume BG would be talking about world wide. It may be that travel to some areas will still be disrupted for the future. But Aus and NZ vittually normal within their borders.

That 'could' have been us. But it won't be us until another couple of years has gone by. BoJo busy saying things can reopen soon, but that will just increase up the numbers again and keep the rest of us tied down for longer. Half-arsed.

Hopefully, not long before the faithful can return to Starks Park to watch the mighty Raith Rovers. Haven't been fans at a home game since March. So miss. Sitting in a freezing cold stand, drinking weak instant coffee, munching on my pie. None better.

My family in Oz went out together for a family meal in a restaurant it made me happy for them but sad at our continuing loss.

Watched Graham Norton last night Sam Neal was on from NZ he said they had 3 community cases in the country and everyone was worrying so knuckling down to keep it at bay. Can’t ever see the UK doing same if we ever get to such a level.

If we had locked down earlier, made restrictions legal instead of guidelines, policed the lockdown and if everyone had done what they should perhaps we could have been like Australia now, but of course it was too late, not actioned as it should have been so we are where we are.
