He really has no idea just how toxic he and the tories are in scotland - even with those who are not in favour of Independence.

The bottom line is that Boris' trips out of London are not "essential". Plus, it should be remembered that he doesn't travel alone. There iss a retinue of staff, press, etc. I don't think anyone in Scotland would decry him for not coming here, especially as vaccinations are a devolved matter.

Travel to visit different areas of the country is very much part of his job, just like journalists also travel to cover stories and lorry drivers travel to deliver their goods etc. There are arguments either way but I wouldn't condemn him for coming to a slightly different judgement about the details of his travel arrangements. It's hardly a Barnard Castle situation.
