Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Agree DocM - frankly I am surprised people needed to be told Whitty’s main takeaway.

Should anyone go out to say the pub tonight and get covid, and then be upset about missing Christmas Day with their family, well that’s a case of bad prioritisation. It’s a bit like going out on a bender the night before a job interview.

I can't believe they still aren't doing anything other than increasing the burden on the NHS. Where do they think we are going to get all these extra vaccinators from and how long do they think the staff left on the wards etc can keep going?

I feel for you LMH - they are worried about the NHS being overwhelmed, so they decide to pull staff away to do lots of vaccinations 🤷‍♀️ and the general public can (basically) continue as normal. I think that they are more concerned about the economy rather than the NHS!

They are 100% more concerned about the economy than the NHS or indeed the health of the British people.

The economy has been Johnson's priority since the beginning - see his Greenwich speech in Feb 2020.

I’m having a day off tomorrow. I have a sore throat, aching back and a mouth full of ulcers and I feel guilty about not just going in for at least a few hours but it’s not sustainable. We’ve been pretty much flat out for weeks and are all exhausted and it’s not even as though there’s an end in sight.

LMH - are you at the Derby MVC site? Any idea how the queues are (typically) for walk ins?

Sorry for the cross post ... same reply as KatieB!

Always look after yourself first - it's not selfish, you can't help anyone else if you don't do that.
